Everyone has a favorite Android feature. Over the years, there has been a lot of new stuff in the technology world. Some useful features remain "good", like using two fingers to access the Quick Install application, the rest disappearing, the widget on the lock screen as an example.
However, when I thought about some of my favorite features on Google's operating system, I realized that, at least for me, they all had one thing in common: that it all depends on Double tap operation.
Touch twice to turn on the screenIntroduced for the first time on the LG G2, the first G-Series phone, and ultimately without the "fatal" bug, Knock On - also known by the name of a double touch to light up the screen - is in my list of favorite features. It has been "cloned" so much that you regularly try to try it on every phone, including those that are not supported by this feature.
Using your fingers to quickly start up the screen is a great choice when you're in a situation where you can hardly press the power button, such as a desk, ... and especially smartphones. Set the power button with the volume down button on the back as LG G2.
But not all finger gestures are favored: the Huawei's light touch twice on the P9 is bad, and the knock on the G2's predecessor, the LG G3, is also thought to be one. failure. Sometimes, the first idea is the best idea, and it is also very true of this.
Fast switch between applicationsOnly devices running Android 7.0 Nougat and above are equipped with this feature, but fast switching between applications has impressed the user. Just a few seconds you get used to it, and after a few minutes, you'll love it!
Going back to using an unsupported handset will be one of the worst Android experiences you'll ever see. Rarely anyone thinks that a simple thing like hitting twice on the application key has quickly become an indispensable part of the Android world.
Camera shortcutsThis is the application of my favorite two-touch operation. The Moto X may be the first device to be equipped with quick access to the camera app, but the gesture of shaking the wrist is too slow and troublesome.
Then, HTC launched the "one touch button and raise the machine to" to enter the photography application has brought the company to produce Taiwan phones closer to the standard. However, it was not until the days of Galaxy S6 and Nexus 6P that this new feature officially appeared.
Personally, I prefer the double tap version to the power button rather than the Samsung home key, as I almost never accidentally hit the power button twice, while the S6 camera app pops up. desire more often than not.
After the OnePlus 3 was equipped with this feature, I hoped it would be brought up by other manufacturers as well. We have not reached that yet, but I can still hope! There are some great ideas but are very basic on this platform and they deserve to be used extensively, not to be confined to the license plate.
Double tap to blacken the wordIf you also do a translation-related job like me, or simply copy a hashtag, URL path, or message, for instance, you can double-click on it to instantly black out a word. (or hit twice to browse for a phrase) is "lucky for heaven".
It's not the best finger gesture on this list, but it's the second most widely used thing, just after fast switching between applications.
How about you? What is your favorite double tap?
